Creative is a
system, not luck.
Most paid accounts do not fail because of bidding. They fail because the creative stops earning attention. Sugary Citrus builds a creative system for D2C brands: customer research that names real objections, messaging angles worth testing, briefs a creator can actually shoot, and a testing loop that turns winners into a repeatable format instead of a one-off hit.
Book a scoping callWho this is for
Best fit: brands already spending on Meta or Google who have hit creative fatigue, or teams producing ads without a clear hypothesis. Brands with a real product difference to explain.
Not a fit: brands looking only for cheap video production with no strategy, or teams that will not run enough variants to learn anything.
What the work includes
- Customer and review research: mining reviews, support tickets and comments for the language buyers actually use.
- Messaging angles: three to five distinct territories, each with the problem it speaks to and the proof it needs.
- Creative briefs: hook, structure, proof points, visual direction and the metric the concept is meant to move.
- UGC planning: creator selection criteria, scripts and shot lists, usage rights and a production calendar.
- Testing design: one variable per test, agreed decision rules, and a shared library of what worked.
- Iteration: turning winning concepts into new formats rather than starting from zero each month.
What good creative work looks like
A good ad is not the most beautiful one. It is the one that makes a specific person recognise a specific problem in the first two seconds, and then gives them a reason to believe you can fix it. That is why we start from reviews and objections, not from mood boards.
How the month runs
Research and angle work happens once, then refreshes quarterly. Each month we ship a testing slate, review results against the agreed rules, and document the formats worth scaling. You get the briefs and the learnings, so the system keeps working even if we stop.
What it costs
Strategy and briefing retainers typically run Rs 30,000 to Rs 75,000 a month, depending on volume. Creator fees and production are separate and paid directly to creators or production partners.
Frequently asked questions
Do you shoot the content yourselves?
We direct and brief. Shooting is done by creators, your in-house team, or a production partner, depending on budget and volume.
How many creatives should we test per month?
Eight to fifteen new concepts is a realistic range for most D2C accounts. Fewer than five rarely produces a readable signal.
Do we own the UGC footage?
That is negotiated in the creator agreement. We make sure usage rights and paid amplification rights are explicit before anything goes live.
Can you work with our existing creative team?
Yes. Many clients keep production in-house and use us for strategy, briefs and testing design.
